Arete Welcomes New Community Engagement Director

We are delighted to announce the arrival of a new member to our Arete Scholars family! Please join us in warmly welcoming Shelley Knudsen as our Community Engagement Director. Shelley's appointment is an exciting milestone for our organization as we continue our commitment to empowering families and elevating communities across Georgia and Louisiana.

As the Community Engagement Director, Shelley will lead student, family, and school engagement initiatives. Her focus will be on expanding our impact and creating new programs that generate value and growth for the betterment of the communities we serve.

Shelley's passion for making a difference and her extensive experience in education makes her the perfect fit for this critical role. She's been a K-12 educator in both private and public schools for over 18 years and understands how vital it is that every child be given an opportunity to attend a school where they are given the attention and resources necessary to succeed. 

In addition to her teaching background, Shelley has managed student career pathway programs, conducted educator training clinics, and developed school strategies for teaching objectives. Her dedication to enhancing education and supporting families aligns perfectly with the values that Arete Scholars holds dear.

In her new role at Arete Scholars, Shelley will be responsible for organizing engagement initiatives, conceptualizing and coordinating student and family events, building a passionate and engaged alumni board, and fostering student and alumni involvement in the mission of Arete Scholars. Most importantly, she will be instrumental in building and nurturing authentic personal relationships that form the foundation of our strong community ties.
